Angelcat
Haven Feline Rescue partners with
Bristol Elder Services to help seniors and their pets |
Angelcat
Haven Feline Rescue is asking the public for dry cat food
donations for seniors of Bristol Elder Services. Bristol
Elder Services runs the Pets Eat Too! Program, started by
Howie Galitsky, a Bristol Elder Services employee, in 2006.
It runs on donations from various animal organizations and
individuals, and they are in need of more pet food. There
are individuals participating in the Meals on Wheels program
who lack the funds to buy food for their pets and end up
sharing their own meals with them. Each day, Bristol Elder
Services delivers over 550 hot meals to senior citizens
in Fall River, and another 1,226 to outlying towns, including
the greater Taunton, New Bedford and Attleboro areas. Angelcat
Haven has been coordinating cat food donations for these
pets and people in need, and their supply has run out. "These
are caring people who loves their pets; for many people,
these pets are the only companionship they have," says
Angela Frankudakis, president of Angelcat Haven. "And
they give up what little food they have to feed them."
All donations will go directly to seniors of Bristol Elder
Services in need of cat food. You can drop off dry cat food
at Desco Electronics, 36 Bacon Square, Plainville; Attleboro
Old Barn, 65 S Main, Attleboro; and Seven Arrows Farm, 346
Oakhill Ave, Attleboro. For more information or to donate,
call 508-675-2105 or contact Angelcat Haven Feline Rescue
at (508) 203-4240 or email to info@angelcathaven.com.

Stuff
for Strays! Charity Yard Sale Generates
Much-needed Funds for Cat Rescue
|
PLAINVILLE
– Saturday's Stuff for Strays Yard Sale was a success!
The weather was bright and beautiful, the business booming,
and the bargains incredible! Thanks to the legions of volunteers,
tons of generous donors, and droves of shoppers, Angelcat
Haven Feline Cat Rescue (ACH) raised over $1,700 for stray
and abandoned cats in the area
Angela Frankudakis, president of Angelcat Haven, was pleased
with the outcome. "It was a great day for the kitties.
Not only did we raise money to help fund vet bills, we received
volunteer and adoption applications. We are so grateful
to everyone who turned out for the event."
ACH's mission is to help those cats who fall threw the cracks
at the existing overcrowded shelters. "We truly believe
that havens have no boundaries and we work in many towns
to aid in reducing the stray and feral population,"
Angela says.
It was a day of shopping, eating, and entertainment at the
First Annual Stuff for Strays Yard Sale. Fantastic buys
on furniture, kitchenware, home accessories, baby clothes,
toys and more were plentiful. DJ Bryan kept the shoppers
entertained with non-stop music --- he was even taking requests!
There were also kids' games, cat toys, baked goods, pizza
and drinks for sale on this sunny summer day.
Proceeds from the sale go directly to cover medical expenses
for special needs cats and kittens.
If you didn't make it out to Saturday's event, there is
always next year's sale, scheduled for spring 2008. And
if it's anything like this year, it is sure to be a fun-filled
day of bargains, entertainment, and food --- all for a good
cause!
