| “Pets Eat Too Food Drive” - A Heart Felt Thank-you
A month ago, Angelcat Haven printed in the Sun Chronicle, My Back Yard, The Free Press and other area papers a plea for help. It appears that some of the clients receiving meals on wheels service through Bristol Elder Services were indeed sharing their food with their pets because they could not afford the pet food. In conjunction with Howie Galitsky of BES, Angelcat Haven set out to solicit food for these clients. In my wildest dreams, I could never imagine the caring and outstanding support this program has received. To date 109 bags of dry cat food and 4 cases of canned food, plus cat treats and even monetary donations has been received to aid our senior population. And people who have donated are still coming by Desco Electronics (one of the Drop off sites) daily to ask if more food is needed. In this time of economic crises with job losses, gas/oil pricing through the roof and the trickle down effect on our grocery bills, the generosity of our community to come together and spend $10-$20 on bags of cat food to help another in need is such a amazing gesture. I would like to thank Bob Bamberg and his staff at Attleboro’s Old Barn, and Judy and Mich of Seven Arrows Herb Farm who very graciously opened up their stores to be used as a drop-off site for the food donations. This program, “Pets Eat Too Food Drive” is a long term commitment by Angelcat Haven. We hope that these senior clients and their pets have many years ahead of them, and thus Angelcat Cat Haven will continue to collect donations for the client of Bristol Elder Services. So, in a few months, our supply of food may be dwindling and food donations will be appreciated. Just drop by Desco Electronics, Inc (this author’s company), 36 Bacon Square, Plainville MA as donations will always be welcome. For further information, you can contact our message center at 508-223-4240 or email at info@angelcathaven.com. On behalf of ACH, BES, the seniors, and their loving furry companions, a heart felt thank-you to all that supported this program. You are truly angels! Sincerely,
